Mobility management put on the standard architecture from the Internet has turned into a great challenge due to the exponential development in the amount of devices that may connect with the network. This short article proposes a Software‐Defined Networking (SDN)‐based architecture, known as SDN‐DMM (SDN‐Distributed Mobility Management), that are responsible for the distributed mode of mobility management in heterogeneous access systems inside a simplified and efficient way, making certain mainly the continuity of IP sessions. Intent‐based mobility management by having an IP mapping schema for mobile node identification offers enhanced routing without tunneling techniques, hence, a competent utilisation of the network infrastructure. The simplified mobility control API reduces both signaling and handover latency costs and offers a much better scalability and gratifaction in comparison to traditional and SDN‐based DMM approaches.
