Kansas family sues mapping company for a long time of ‘digital hell’

In 2013, the Butler county sheriff’s department ran experience check up on the household because of all the suspicious activity that appeared to become happening. Police told the Arnolds that there would be a LDNS (local website name server) on their own property which the sheriff’s department received “weekly reports about fraud, scams, stolen Facebook accounts, missing person reports, suicide threats in the Veterans Association”.

There wasn’t any such server around the property, repeat the Arnolds it had been all lower to MaxMind’s mapping error.

The glitch have been essentially since 2002 and, as described in Fusion’s article, had affected the property’s previous tenants too.

“As due to the defendant’s reckless and grossly negligent conduct, the plaintiffs have sustained great emotional distress, fear for his or her safety and humiliation,” stated the complaint.

The Arnolds are trying to find damages more than $75,000.

“My clients happen to be through digital hell. Probably the most vile accusations happen to be made against them – for example that they’ve tried child pornography. Clearly it’s terrible,” stated the Arnolds’ attorney Randall Rathbun, who stated the police visits ongoing “up until last month”.
