The Copyright Office’s program will explore the initial and often surprising relationship between sports and copyright. We’ll take a look at different points where sports and copyright intersect, including how people watch games at home, the different ways athletes use copyright to build up merchandise and much more, and also the burgeoning realm of esports.

The wedding may also be livestreamed.

We’ll continue our celebration of World IP Day Saturday, April 27, at 10:30 a.m. having a special copyright-focused Story Time in the Youthful Readers Center in the Library of Congress. Weʼll use song, tales, and activities introducing copyright concepts and highlight the strength of taking ideas and which makes them into creative works. The wedding is ideal for families with children from five to ten years of age.

World Ip Day, observed on April 26th since 2000, marks the date in 1970 once the WIPO Convention arrived to pressure. The anniversary of the occasion is noted as a means of advertising and growing general knowledge of ip. The program belongs to the Copyright Matters lecture series and it is free and available to the general public.
